Nathan, or Nate Gibson was so ready to be out of the city after being cooped up in it for the past few years due to restrictions. He was finally going camping with his friends. He was going out to meet them, and after getting the camp site set up, he decided to go swimming while waiting for them. Unfortunately, the rope swing he tried broke, and it nearly cost him his life.

Zanderfield Folly, or Zee, was busy trying to repair his ship so that he could leave this planet and get home when he found himself rescuing a human who was drowning. He brought him to his ship to save his life.

Discovering that the human was his mate surprised him, but would they be able to repair the ship, since Zee was too alien and wouldn't be able to stay on Earth.
